You know I love working with people, I love telling stories, um uh I’m you know and I think the combination with the fact that I do have so many family members a part of this business just the general familiarity I have with it already um is why I’m in it. I love acting, so.

00:02:30 146	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Well I’ll tell you, um I got Medium uh just auditioning, a lot of auditioning, um and a lot of good auditions, a lot of bad auditions, it’s you’re right it is, some people know, some people don’t. um but uh but I just I think you know the whole the whole like getting started aspect of the business I think it’s the most nonsensical part. Um it depends on the day, how people are feeling, how you’re feeling, um I so I you know just auditioning and the Medium stuck and it was great, I learned a lot, and then I backed the auditioning circuit and eventually I came along and that was great um I don’t know, the whole auditioning process, the way I got started is it was really uh it’s relatively undramatic, which I’m grateful for, you know. Um sort of like it’s sort of like adolescence you know, like a, it’s awkward and rough at times but really necessary um sort of part of your whole developmental process. It was good.
00:03:57 233	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Everyone was amazing, and um and I forget who it was, I met when I was a lot younger, I knew one of the producers, I forgot who it was, um but Patricia Arquette was amazing um and yeah people were really really nurturing on that set so it was nice.
00:04:30 266	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Well I met with Greg in New York um and uh and then I auditioned when he started casting and I just I got it, I went to like a you know really soon after I just flew to Pittsburgh and was just in Pittsburgh for 2 weeks. (talks) I play Sue O’Malley, I’m an Irish Catholic girl, who has a like romantic, I don’t want to say romantic rendezvous, more like a romantic run-in, with um Martin Starr’s character Joel. Um uh and I work at the amusement park with Kristen’s character and Jesse’s character.
00:05:30 326	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Uh I mean you just sort of take the character and take the material and uh and it’s not you know different circumstances, you just sort of go with the circumstances and um and just it’s like working different muscles but uh you kind of just jump right in and everyone plays along and yeah.
00:06:00 356	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Oh, I like them both, I like them both. I think comedy’s probably a little bit more challenging for me, but I really like them both.
00:06:20 376	Sound Bite: Paige Howard There was so, we were laughing the entire time so I mean um I remember the second day I was there, I just I had a makeout scene with Martin and um and we were in a car and he is the nicest guy um uh a good friend, incredible actor, but we had this like heavy makeout scene um we’re just rolling, rolling and rolling, and um he was like, when we were headed into the car, he was like, “Are you okay? We just met.” You know, “I hope you’re not uncomfortable,” and I was like, “no no no, please this is totally fine. And um lets hop right in.” But it was freezing cold so uh in the middle of the shot, when we just kept on rolling, my body started to shake, and because I was cold. I remember the minute they cut Martin was like, “Oh my gosh, you’re shaking. Are you, do you feel okay? I feel like I’ve violated you.” And I was like, “Martin, no, I’m cold. Don’t worry.” And he was like “ah” and for the entire rest of the shot he was like, “are you okay? Are you sure you’re okay with this?” And um we’re good friends, so.
00:08:28 504	Sound Bite: Paige Howard A favorite of mine, Sally Field, I just I love her, she is so charismatic. Um I’ve met her, and she’s an incredible human being. Um I really admire her perseverance and you know just as a just as an actress I think she’s incredible. I love um I mean I love Judy Dench, Meryl Streep. I’ve never met either of them but I know I’d start sweating immediately if I did. I would just be like, oh my gosh. Um.
00:09:20 556	Sound Bite: Paige Howard I’ll be ecstatic. I’ll be ecstatic, I’m sure I’ll be a little nervous. Um uh I cannot wait for that day.
00:09:54 590	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Well he’s extremely supportive. Um first and foremost, he’s an amazing father uh who happens to be an incredible director and uh actor, producer. Um so uh… (talks) um so I uh you know he’s really he’s really supportive as long as it’s something, he always says just do something that you love to do, work hard at it, and enjoy your life, and that’s how he lives every single day, and uh and um and that’s influenced me a lot just to see him work like that and just be the person that he is along with the you know professional that he is.
00:11:48 704	Sound Bite: Paige Howard You know I cannot tell you, in ten years possible, 15 years maybe. I know for the next 10 years or so, I really wanna just stick with acting, so uh so no I don’t think so anytime soon. (talks) Uh yeah maybe just on my own. That could possibly, I could write something that could come out, just because I do write a lot on my own and so maybe.
00:12:55 771	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Uh it’s totally um I mean, Tom’s a great guy, and anyone that’s been around him knows what a delight he is, um but it’s completely average, honestly you know it’s just like it’s very relaxed, uh you know they laugh, we hang out, people come and go. It’s very relaxed.

00:14:18 854	Sound Bite: Paige Howard Um he hasn’t seen Adventureland, um he’s excited, he’s going this weekend. Um uh but you know he whole he’s really he just he’s really cut and dry about it. Like I’ll be like, “So dad, what do you think? What can I do? What are the good things that I did? What are the not so good things that I did?” And we’ll just have a conversation about it.
00:14:44 880	Sound Bite: Paige Howard I don’t know, we’ll see. I’m just gonna keep plugging away and then um and we’ll see over the next couple months or so. (talks) uh maybe a few little, we’ll see. (talks) Um in 5 years I just wanna be working, keep plugging away, uh actually you know the book Outliers, it says it takes it’s a book out right now, it says it takes ten thousand hours to master something and so I kind of, I mean I haven’t been counting my hours or anything, but I think I just wanna keep chipping away that, and I wanna get really really good at this so keep working um and uh yeah that’s the plan.
