I love the show, I love the Cho Show, I’m so proud of it, I really feel like this is really what I’ve been trying to do all this time that I finally kind of figured it out and I’m really really excited, I love the show and I think everybody should watch it.
01:19:02 57.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Yes, it’s like standup comedy and it’s also a lot of um, it is just really being with my family and spending some time with my friends and my assistant and I think it really is a wonderful glimpse into the world that I live in but at the same time it’s um very much a comedy show, so there’s a lot of wonderful things going on. It’s a comedy show but it’s also um there’s rooted in reality but it’s also somewhat scripted, it’s very um it’s very new, it’s a very new kind of genre, so I’m very excited about that.

He’s a really incredible artist and um really really wonderful friend and he’s somebody that I will collaborate with over time you know, we have another project that we’re working on, Liam and I are working on together and he’s really an amazing guy and so we have a lot of fun.
01:20:50 165.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Liam I met initially when um he did the Shoes video because my husband made the robot that’s in the Shoes video and uh so in that after the video was finished I was actually one of the first people to see it, and I was so blown away by it I was just so ready to share it with everybody I knew and I put it on my blog and from there it went viral which is really incredible and um he uh agreed to be in my show, The Centerous Woman which is a variety show and um so he’s been sort of with me the last couple of years on this journey and touring now also, he’s a tremendous gift to me in my life.

01:21:46 221.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I don’t know, I just would like to continue working and continue doing my TV show or doing standup or traveling or doing whatever that takes shape, whatever shape or form that takes. I enjoy my career so I don’t I don’t know I hope that it keeps going.
01:22:25 260.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho I always try to bolster their confidence and I try to give them sound advice about what they’re doing. I try to help whoever I can I mean I’m very very supportive to younger comics, whether they’re Asian Americans or not in general younger comics always need support and especially people who aren’t a minority you know whether they’re a person of color or they’re um gay or whatever it is that sets them apart, I always try to make sure that I spend more time to encourage them um but I think it’s very important, I think somebody in my position has a responsibility to do some mentoring and some teaching and um that this is how we pass it on because people are so good to me when I was coming up I got a lot of mentoring and a lot of wonderful sage advice and a lot of help so I pass along the same.
01:23:13 308.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho Yeah Jerry Seinfeld was a major comic mentor. Very very important comic mentor for me. Um Rosanne, Rosy O’Donnell, those are people who are very very supportive and also very helpful when I was young and starting, so I always want to do something to help people now, whatever I can do.
01:23:52 347.13	Sound Bite: Margaret Cho It plays all over the world. Everything I do wherever I go, my sensibility is really accepted and really, it’s really excited even in places where they don’t have that opinion or voice all the time. It’s really an incredible thing so it plays wherever I go.

I think the world has changed a lot too because um the internet and how information is passed around it’s sort of like the idea of something remote or rural is like changing so I think it’s really great. I feel like things are changed and I have a good time wherever I go nowadays.

I blog I have um a very visible presence on the web that there’s a lot of there’s a lot of activity going on on my website. There’s um also a you know I make videos for online you know purposes and I’ve kind of followed in Liam’s footsteps in that you know cause he’s so great at that and I’ve learned a lot from him making online videos and comedy and trying to do that more so I just think that comedy and internet is just really a perfect combination especially with YouTube and everything, you can really put videos out there every day it’s incredible or just get um to see people you haven’t seen before, it’s like really unique and really exciting so I love it.

01:27:30 565.13	Sound Bite: Selene Luna I got involved with Margaret at, well I’ve known Margaret for a few years now. We have a lot of friends in common, and eventually uh we met at her house, I attended her birthday party, and we met and then um I guess shortly thereafter we just started doing stuff together um we did like a short film and then she invited me to perform in her stage variety show the Centuous Woman and um as it was I was already doing burlesque and um so we’ve done tons of shows together I mean like mostly stage and so and then it lead to the TV show.

Um it’s amazing, it’s really fun because um I know this sounds really corny and cliché, and I can’t believe I’m getting paid to do this, but really I can’t. like goofing off with my friends all day long, it’s like that’s not a job. (talks) Um actually the food’s pretty darn good. Uh huh. Um yeah we like to eat, we don’t like to mess around with food. Yeah what’s uh, we have our meals every hour.
01:28:47 642.13	Sound Bite: Selene Luna Well my part in Margaret’s TV show is actually it’s just like real life in the sense where we really are good friends but she also employs me, I’m her personal assistant um how it lead up to that was once the Centuous Woman tour ended I was in need of a day job and she needed an assistant and so it really was a win-win situation. (talks) I am. So it’s great because um she totally knows my life and I can easily get time off to do a gig you know and at the same time as her assistant I totally understand what her needs are and just knowing her as well as I do and so it really it’s turned out to work really perfectly.

Selene – Absolutely. I want her to rape me. Like and executive produce my spinoff.
