STOPPING A MAN FROM STEALING ONE OF THE HOT DOGS, THE HUNGRY CHARLIE THEN PROCEEDS TO STEAL ONE FOR HIMSELF, AND THEN ANOTHER. A CHASE ENSUES, THE HOT DOGS ARE GRABBED BY BYSTANDERS, & MABEL'S BUSINESS IS RUINED. CHAPLIN THEN TURNS ON HIS CHARM AND CONSOLES THE DEVASTATED GIRL. MISSING HIS CUE, HE SPOILS THE SCENE BY WALKING ONTO THE WRONG SET & IS SUBSEQUENTLY FIRED. DETERMINED TO RETURN TO THE STUDIO, HE DRESSES AS A WOMAN & SO CHARMS THE DIRECTOR THAT HE IS HIRED AS A LEADING LADY. CROSS DRESSING. THE OTHER ACTORS ARE TURNED OUT OF THEIR DRESSING ROOMS SO THE THE "NEW ACTRESS" CAN MOVE IN. BUT WHEN HIS DISGUISE IS UNCOVERED, HE IS AGAIN FIRED & CHASED FROM THE STUDIO. WHILE THE WOMEN WRANGLE, THE MEN PILFER AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY CAN BEFORE SLIPPING OUT AGAIN. SOON THEY LAND IN A RESTAURANT WHERE THEIR WIVES HUNT THEM DOWN AND GLEEFULLY HUMILIATE THEM.
