Fat girls is based on true life events of 3 misfits growing up in small town texas in there last year of high school it sort of partially my story so I thought I would write it and direct it
AO9.HRN-1582
In:00.32.10 Out:00.32.19
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
I was right out of high school I was 19 when I wrote it I was 20 when I directed it and starred in it

In:00.32.22 Out: 00.33.01
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
It was a process let me tell you this kind of money you know its not easy to get money for I mean you know it deals with a lot of controversial stuff like sexuality weight issues religion everything your not suppose to talk about you know a 19 year old kid is raising money for his first movie yeah know I fought and I wasn’t gonna give up till I got it and I didn’t I went to rich people back in my hometown and uh sent them investment packages went back home because I was out here when I was 19 got the money and I shot it I raised the money in a month and I shot it it was real quick for my first movie
A11.HRN-1582
In:00.33.04 Out: 00.33.33
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
No I didn’t have anything I hired a producer that did a short film and I had read all the books I had worked as a actor for 3 years before that so I sort of new how a film set worked and all of that you know what to do and I knew the artistic part of it just not the business side I mean it was I was 19 years old it was a little intense
A12.HRN-1582
In:00.33.48 Out: 00.34.15
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
I mean I want to go the Woody Allen path I mean that’s sort of the dream career path for me he kind of does what he wants to do he’s in the movie he wants to do he does the films he wants to do he’s his own studio system I make my living acting and now directing slowly so its uh I’m doing all three equally now
A13.HRN-1582
In:00.34.19 Out: 00.34.59
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
So the fat girls is set in Bloom Texas um its sort of a take on Paris Texas the part where I grew up and it’s a story of Rodney Miller a gay theatre teenager and his 300 pound best friend and there lives in high school and not fitting in and not being a part of the norm it’s a movie for the outsiders and they go through things and his mother is an evangelical Christian and its her dealing with his sexuality and her lesbian mother dealing with her in general so it’s it’s a rollercoaster of a comedy ride
A14.HRN-1582
In:00.35.09 Out: 00.35.34
Sound Bite: Ash Christian
Yes I did I grew up a awkward theatre boy in small town Texas its sort of my experience and so its sort of my experience and not fitting in and now I’m in Hollywood so it’s a little different world I wanted to do something for the kids without a voice they don’t really have anyone to do a movie for them
