I think kids go to movies, it is part of the thing. I know my kids go to the movies more than I do. But you know the great thing about Barnyard is that it is going to appeal to adults as well. Having raised three children, I’ve still got an eleven year old, I have done my share of kids movies that were not entertaining. The wonderful thing about this is that parents are going to enjoy it to. It is a really bright movie.

I don’t know if there is an appeal or if it is just everyone thinking there is an appeal. You know I don’t know. It’s a great form. It has arrived technologically to a level of Jesus, it is like everything else in the movie business, if you can conceive of it you can put it on film. So why not animated. There is a huge marketplace for it. There a lot of little kids that like to see animated films.
That’s the trick, to cross the line. And Steve Oedekerk crossed the like and he did so in spades I think.

You know, I think it is healthy for animation but it is probably a fad if you think about it. I mean people are probably just jumping onto a new look with is the CGI film look but personally I think 2D cell drawn animation is going to come back. I think it is just a wave. It is all about stories. If the story is strong, people are going to love it and then the tools you use to accomplish it, like me. I have done mostly live action but I love CG. I may actually do a hand drawn film just because everyone else is avoiding it.

Well yeah, it is not like anyone…I think it was artificially killed. It is not like anybody would avoid seeing The Lion King if it had been out a week from now. It’s a great movie.
