Yah you know development hell as we were just talking about you come up with a concept I used to be naïve enough to think ok I can buy a book get someone to write a script and we’ll be shooting by next year uh no not that easy so now I understand it takes time the first thing I produce was Eve’s Bayou and that took five year’s (mike talks) not mine nope maybe Lawrence did nope ive done Eve’s Bayou, Cave man’s Valentine, Formula 51 um just finished with The Cleaner so yah maybe by the end of the year .

Well not really I mean every Stephen King short story is not a movie um this one was particularly intriguing and the pedigree of people around it I mean Michael and John you know all the people that were involved Lorenzo all the people involved was appealing to me and it was shooting in an interesting place, London I like London so we shot in London and I enjoyed that the character does something that I like to do he explains himself a lot he talks. (Mike talks) I have no idea I didn’t even ask them how or why we got there but probably had to do something with the investors and Mikael and everything else.

Every week yah well I read 6,7 scripts a week that are offered to me so I turn down you know 6 or 7 scripts a week you can’t do ‘em all (mike talks) I turn down stuff that interesting enough you turn down things because I don’t particularly see where there going or who’s uh going to see it or whatever and then you look up at the end of the year and people are being nominated for academy award’s and your goin’ how did I miss that? So everybody doesn’t know it’s a crap shoot you never know.

Um I was only there a month yah it was very short well my scenes are pretty short and self contained (mike talks) well there’s somewhere everywhere there’s lots of places to shoot movies, other states offer tax incentive and now Louisiana a great state for people to shoot and now Connecticut is joining that there’s a lot of people shooting in Connecticut different county’s do the same thing you know Canada did that for a while that’s why there was that great Canadian flight because they offer such great tax rebates and you know the American dollar was strong as the Canadian dollar has changed so there dollar’s a little stronger now so people don’t shoot so much up there anymore. (mike talks) it wasn’t my decision no the other the financier’s the director went and scouted it there are places that look like New Jersey cuz it’s supposed to be New Jersey so you can make it look like New Jersey uh there were about actually like 6 or 7 other films being shot there when I was there cuz right after we left the Katie Holmes, Queen Latifa, and Diane Keaton movie came in and then there was um Martin Lawrence movie, Frank Darabount was coming into town to shoot The Mist, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle Part 2 was shooting there at the time, so lots of films going on in Streamport and you know Streamport’s kind of like Vegas it’s got a huges strip it’s got like 8 casino’s huge casino’s hotels.

No I read the script so I knew what too expect I read the script so you know what to expect I always read the script so I know what too expect its’ im generally sitting there to see how well they pulled off the things that they said they were going to do so I guess Tuesday when I go to the film I’ll watch the film with the audience to see how they react to it my wife’s already telling me she’s not going(mike talks) she can’t do movie’s like that, (mike talks) yah I guess so yah I havnt done a real pure horror movie I’ve done adventure stories where things with big teeth chasing you like you know Deep Blue Sea but not a pure horror movie

Yah most of them were in my office another on in the elevcator and one more in the hallway (mike talks) I describe him as a hotel manager (mike talks) well hotel manager’s should have a mystic you know they he has um an air majesty uh there’s some mystery to him he explains the room explains the history of the room and explains the history of the room to the point where your wondering if he’s trying to keep this guy from going into the room or is he daring him into the room or is he dangling this bait that says hey you should try it see what happens so it’s kind of hard to tell is he the crypt keeper? Or is he you know actually trying to prevent this guy from doing this

Yah of course I love the genre part of being in this business for me is being able to do things that I enjoy going to watch on Saturday afternoon’s in term’s of films that were just there for pure kinds of visirel appeal you know for me back then a horror move was Wolfman, Frankenstein, and you know vampire movies some Vincent Price films but now those things are adventure stories you know the vampire and wolf man stories are (mike talks) yah but there not horror movies now you know Underworld is not a horror movie Blade is not a horror movie it’s an adventure action/adventure movie (mike talks) well yah old school horror movie’s now it’s you know Hostel and Saw, Saw 2 I like those I like slasher movies I love them but I also love things like Audition which are kind of Japanese movies that know how to push that envelope to point without being slasher movies or know how to freak you out like the eye you know things like that (mike talks) that’s another kind of Genre
