TO AVOID IMPRISONMENT, HE PLEADED NO CONTEST TO TAX EVASION AND WAS FINED $10,000. AGNEW EXPLAINS HIS RESIGNATION AND DEFENDS HIS INNOCENCE OF TAX EVASION, EXTORTION AND BRIBERY. HEADS OF STATE.
