Sound Bite: Neil Patrick Harris
Busted, not it is not entirely me. In fact I don’t get an as himself credit in the film. (talks) I demanded a Neil Patrick Harris credit. (Talks) No that was sort of my idea, like it was understood that it would be in the credits Neil Patrick Harris as himself, but I thought no that’s actually not true, that’s actually Neil Patrick Harris playing a different Neil Patrick Harris. |

I think they were fans, I think that they thought it would be cool and they thought that I wouldn’t do it, so they just wrote it on a whim and then it got to me and I read it and I thought it was hilarious so |

I think the idea of that I thought was funny, was that society seems obsessed with knowing all about someone, and as actors you try to maintain a level of mystery so you can play all types of people without being pigeonholed and so to sort of lampoon your own personal story with a movie that totally juxtaposes that and makes people think that that’s who you are sort of blurs the line which I thought was cool. |

Well I think it’s important for the actor to keep challenging him or herself throughout your career. I think the point of feeling like you’ve made makes lethargy and that’s never good so fear’s really good for that because it forces you to be really scared and feel like you’re terrible a lot. (Talks) Because you’re on stage and rehearsals and you don’t know if it’s gonna be a success and then you preview it and sometimes those audiences don’t like it, and so then you’re stressed about that and then it opens and you don’t know how it’s gonna play and every single night it’s a new audience and sometimes they don’t like it, so you’re never really sure of how you’re doing and I think that’s important. |

No, actually, well we don’t have much choice as actors what roles we are cast in, we get to audition for all sorts of things, and then the casting directors and producers choose who they want, and I’ve been very lucky in getting these sort of extreme roles recently and I think it’s fantastic, you know you gotta take these roles when you get them and swing for the rafters, you know chew on the scenery while there’s scenery to be chewed on. |

No I don’t think it’s, well I have opinions, and you know as I’ve co-hosted on Regis and Kelly before I’m happy to spout them out, but I don’t think I’m not really one to stump, but I think we are in strange political times and I think everyone needs to be more politically minded. I don’t think that means that the actor needs to go out and wave banners, but I think everyone should be aware of what’s going on in the world and we are at a point where differences can be made for sure. |
